TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT AT KARSIYAKA ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL
EDUCATION is an ongoing learning process and it is in the process of a major change. Through innovations in technology and teaching methodology, academic institutions are being given an opportunity to work for the benefit of the student. As leaders in education begin to adopt TQM(Total Quality Management) as their operational philosophy, they are discovering that;people feel better about themselves and their efforts on the job, and they take greater pride in their work. Relationships among people in the organization are more honest and open. Administrators often feel less isolated, misunderstood, and burdened. Productivity goes up, as work processes are improved continuously. With organizational change come opportunities for personal and professional growth, along with the pride and joy that come with getting better and better every day, and helping others to do the same.
The product of their successful work together is the development of the student's capabilities, interests, and character. In one sense, the student is the teacher's customer, as the recipient of educational services provided for the student's growth and improvement. Viewed in this way, the teacher and the school are suppliers of effective learning tools, environments, and systems to the student, who is the school's primary customer. The school is responsible for providing for the long-term educational welfare of students by teaching them how to learn and communicate in high-quality ways, how to assess quality in their own work and in that of others, and how to invest in their own lifelong and life-wide learning.
In our school we have been doing projects with our volunteer students in order to provide for the high-quality ways for them.Students held surveys and found out that the need for social responsibility projects is critical in our school.Our students are willing to take part in social responsibility projects to create value in their community.Youth Innovations and Entrepreneurship Projects have made a great impact on our students and now they are making a difference.Our social responsibility project Stories of the Elderly recieved an award for the Best Qualified Group Category in Karsıyaka District.We owe lots of thanks to our project partners, sponsors ;The Turkish Education Association ,Technoplis Group and the US Embassy Ankara.Kind regards,
